Devil's Choice Press & Gig History

Paul Bearer's Review of Us @ The Columbus Community Festival:
"Sunday, Day Three: Another early start. Hot new up-and-comers Devil’s Choice played Poplar at 12:45 p.m. and, despite technical problems, delivered a set of blues-infused dirty rock ’n’ roll that was infinitely pleasing to a purist like me. Any act that covers Johnny Thunders and the Stones must have pedigree-can ya dig it? Special guest Bob Petric’s soulful slide guitar was like adding gravy to already juicy meat. If you haven’t caught Devil’s Choice yet, you should. If you have, keep coming back! "

John Petric's Review of Us @ The Columbus Community Festival:
"Speaking of Soul, hugely honorable mention must be made for yet another good new rock n' roll band, Devil's Choice, who played with as much inner fire as any of the weekend's best early on at the Poplar Street Stage."

Paul Bearer's Kind Words Aboot Us Opening for the Trash Brats & Thee Invaders:
"Opening this spectacle will be Devil’s Choice. Unlike Rush, this is a power trio that doesn’t suck; their emphasis is on power, rather than pretense. John “Booger” Weills has the gnarliest set of pipes in town, bar none. This act is worth getting there early to catch."

John Petric's Review of Us Opening for the Trash Brats & Thee Invaders:
"Devil's Choice opened, a trio dedicated to bringing fresh life to meaningful '70's rock 'n' roll, with a jaded boogie swagger more real than the Trash Brats will ever be. The band's led by the singer/guitarist known simply as Booger-his voice and guitar tone shared an ornery grind, and a detectable strain of soulfulness, too. As the bassist and drum locked into Booger's groove, his Alice Cooper-like growl became more endearing. Eventually the band lost me on a country tune called Hillbilly Heroine, but recaptured me right away with a brave version of the Stones' Sway. Pretty enjoyable, Devil's Choice is, especially for a relatively new band."
